Be inspired in an atmospheric wooden villa dating back to the 19th century that is close to nature and still in the centre of the city!
The artists’ residence in Villa Eläintarha maintained by the City of Helsinki Cultural Office is mainly intended for foreign artists and Finnish artists who reside permanently abroad.
The residence is open to both, artists who come to Helsinki as a guest of a local association or who come to work independently. Applicants from all fields of art are considered equally.The lengths of residence periods vary from a week to two months depending on the space and the needs of the artist.
The facilities in the villa offer residents a home-like environment. There are five individually decorated single rooms and four of them can accommodate an extra bed.

Villa Eläintarha is the international artists’ residence maintained by City of Helsinki and located in Tokoinranta in Helsinki. There is also a permanent bourgeois home exhibition in the villa.
